From Ghostscripts Projects.htm I find ...

Ghostscript as an Active-X COM Object.
In order to integrate Ghostscript into XMetaL and
other applications it would be convenient for
Ghostscript to be distributed as a COM object along
with the current gswin32.exe, gswin32c.exe and
gsdll32.dll files.

Can you tell me how do you see the interpreter
working in a content authoring tool like XMetaL?

Thanks.

if you download the msrrep-xmetal package from
    http://www.sourceforge.net/projects/xmlec11n

and look for gs32_on* - macros, the you see how the
    integration works.

I have a simple viewer running as an ActiveX control,
based on GSview. I know very little ActiveX stuff,
but I do know to drive Ghostscript well.
If you are interested in testing this, or helping to
develop it further, please contact me.
