The new version 8.64 is available only as source.
Does anyone know, if there will be a binary setup package for Windows?
We hope to build one, but it hasn't happened yet. Please check back in a few days.
I have a little request :
This is possible to install Ghostscript (Windows version) in C:\Program Files\Ghostscript\ ?
=> Because C:\Program Files\gs\ is not very good folder name.
You can change the installed path to
when the installer asks you for the destination.
This is needed because in other languages the directory name "Program Files" changes.
Yes, I do since a long time manually.
But by default, I see C:\Program Files\gs\ so I think it is possible to change in C:\Program Files\Ghostscript\ no ?
It is not the first time, it is a bad idea to release without win32 version at the same time ...
One person does the source release, and after that another person builds the Win32 version and then uploads it. It normally takes a 1-2 days.
The Windows files are now available.
Thank you for the fast response Ralph and Russell.
I was just impatient to try the new release ;)
I was not able to find the resource and font folders when I installed this version with the installer.
When I am trying to convert PDF to PDF/A, I am getting the following error....
PDF/A requires that a Type 2 CIDFont has a stream mapping from CIDs to glyph indices or the name Identity as its value.
What do I need to do to map CIDToGIDMap for fonts?
The resources and fonts are compiled into ghostscript in this version. Separate files are not needed.
Thanks for the valuable information.
However I am getting the below error while validating PDF/A format...
Type 2 CID font: CIDToGIDMap invalid or missing
(PDF/A requires that a Type 2 CIDFont has a stream mapping from CIDs to glyph indices or the name Identity as its value.)
So can you please let me know on how I should go about mapping these fonts and in which file. Alternatively it could be great if you suggest any alternatives for this.
Once again thanks a lot for your information.
