Two ideas ... use an equal are project  ... but make up the WKT  
yourself based on the location you are buffering....

Use one of the Auto projections; this will have the same effect as  
your database table of 60 UTM zones; see AutoFactory for details...

factory = new AutoCRSFactory();
ProjectedCRS utm = factory.createProjectedCRS("AUTO:42001,"+lat","+lon);
