Hello, I'm trying to lock features in a WFSDatastore. The WFS is provided by Geoserver 1.2.4. Connecting to the WFS, creating a WFSDatastore, getting features and filtering them works fine. Now i'm trying to use transactions and lock features. The developer documentation at http://www.geotools.org/Data+Access speaks of a FeatureLocking interface that extends FeatureStore, but the WFSFeatureStore does not implement this interface? Now i don't know how to lock features in a WFSDatastore. Is there somewhere an example how to do this? Thanks in advance, Dirk |

Dirk, This is not yet supported, and there are not any plans to do so in the near future. That said, I would gladly accept a patch to add this functionality :). There is a second take on the locking problem here: - http://geoapi.sourceforge.net/snapshot/javadoc/org/opengis/feature/LockRequest.html - http://geoapi.sourceforge.net/snapshot/javadoc/org/opengis/feature/LockResponse.html It is much more clear and explicit - for example: http://geoapi.sourceforge.net/snapshot/javadoc/org/opengis/feature/Transaction.html#commit() The Transaction commit method returns a LockResponse describing all the features that were locked of the course of the Transaction. If any major hacking is required we should move in the direction of LockRequest/LockResponse :-) Jody |
