I am developing a client web application based on ASP.Net, and will make
queries to GeoNetwork via CSW calls. Now I have the following questions:
- If I make CSW calls into GeoNetwork , can I authenticate as a GeoNetwork
user, or am I always anonymous?
- If I am anonymous, how can I control the access to the CSWs? In our case,
everyone using our web client application should be able to search all the
metadata (GetRecords), but some metadata records should be protected so only
certain users can get the full metadata. I was thinking about building a
kind of proxy in ASP.Net which checks access first, and makes the CSW Call
afterwards if the user is authenticated and authorised, and otherwise reject
it. Are there other ways to do this? I have seen that there are other
products on the market, but I dont know how well they fit into the
Thanks for help!
