Hey, I know it's a long shot but it would be sweet if it has OpenGL support for smooth textures and better colors.

I know that Baldurs Gate II (And maybe Icewind dale and others) use Direct3D on windows, so this could be a nice alternative.

    You cannot get better colors other than your monitor was set to.
    No opengl will help this.
    Smooth textures?

    Maybe you thought about per pixel blending?
    If you miss the fog of war edges being smooth, then turn on the 3D Acceleration option on (it was the flag what controlled it in the old games, i think)

    two experimental gl renderers are now included, but as was stated, this won't affect colors or antialiasing. The only current exception are the selection ellipses.
