Geist3D is a graphics engine complete with an integrated development environment. It combines an extensible Scene Graph API with a Petri Net runtime kernel, the Lua scripting engine and rigid body physics.
After 2 years, Geist Software Labs has released a new version of Geist3D under a more liberal license than before. The new source release contains the basic scene tree library including over 30 node types, Lua scripting interface and physics engine. The open source components are packaged with the Geist3D editor in a linkable VC++ 2005 project making it is possible to create new types of nodes which seamlessly integrate with the Geist3D framework. Geist3D is a graphics engine complete with an integrated development environment. It includes source code editors for Python script and the OpenGL Shading Language as well as drag-and-drop interfaces to construct 3D models and Petri Nets.
Geist3D including user manuals and demo models is now available at www.geist3d.org. The source code has also been released under the GPL and a call for participation is now being extended to graphics and open-source community.... read more
