I've noticed that memory usage keeps increasing when scrolling the PDF preview in the ebedded window.
This forces me to close and reopen gedit to keep working. This is very annoing as i frequently use the preview window.

To reproduce simply open a document with some pages, show the preview window then do Tools / LaTeX -> PDF (Embedded preview), scroll the document for a while and notice how the used memory increases.

I'm using versione 0.2 rc3 on ubuntu karmic.

Keep up the good work.

  • Hi,
Thank you for posting! This is already mostly fixed in SVN. It was due to a bug in the python-poppler library (maybe due to poppler itself) which does not release memory after each call to the get_page() method. This method is now only used when initializing the document so the situation is much better.
