Currently there is only the possibility to launch geany with --no-msgwin.

To hide all widgets (besides no plugins, no ctags, no session, no terminal) is important for people who would like to completely replace nano or vi with geany for simple editing while in a terminal session (for example, for editing commits before actually committing).

Discussion

  • You can very well make Geany use a separate configuration directory (-c) in which you configured the sidebar to be hidden.
