Work at SourceForge, help us to make it a better place! We have an immediate need for a Support Technician in our San Francisco or Denver office.
Please port Geany to GTK3 for new versions, so that we can benefit from GTK3 themes and features on the latest operating systems. I am currently using Geany 0.20 on Ubuntu 11.10 amd64. I have also used Geany 0.21 on Fedora 16 x86_64.
Out of curiosity, what features, besides themes, are you missing as a result of Geany not supporting GTK+ 3?
I'd really like Gtk 3 support, consistency, the theme, like people have referred, but also because Gtk 3 will help you add new Gtk features.
We may add support for Gtk 3 but using Gtk 3-only features is not that useful ATM, because we want to support systems with Gtk 2 for a while longer, including adding new features. IIUC Gtk 2.24 is the latest stable release for Windows binaries:
So Gtk 3-only is not really even an option yet on Windows.

There is GTK+3 to windows:
bug fixes (copy and paste don`t work in gtk2 when the keyboard layout is on Hebrew(or other languages which I don't have/need))
Preliminary, experimental, "don't blame us if it fails", GTK3 port available at https://github.com/b4n/geany/tree/wip/gtk3-support
I really miss the smooth-scrolling that was introduced in GTK 3.4. GEdit is using it, and touchpad scrolling is smooth, not jumping 5 lines like Geany. Except for this feature, I much prefer Geany.
I really miss the smooth-scrolling that was added in GTK 3.4. GEdit uses it, and touchpad scrolling is very smooth, doesn't jump by 5 lines like Geany does. This feature has made me want to use GEdit sometimes, although Geany is a much better editor overall.
