#19 More user-friendly way of bookmarking lines

No

Currently the plugin allows "bookmarking" lines by prepending a word in front of them, which is, in my opinion, pretty messy. It would be great if one would be able to bookmark a line by pressing a key combination or other more interactive and quicker way.

This is a bit confusing. I guess you are talking about the tasks plugin, which job is actually, to just show lines in the below message window in the tasks-tab, which are marked with "TODO"?
There is separate bookmarking functionality brought by Geany, which allows you to simply mark any line as bookmark with a small plus-sign by clicking the left border (between line number and editing area). You can have an additional sidebar listing those bookmarks - also delivered with the addons plugin.

As dmaphy said, what you are talking about is the Tasks plugin which is not meant to be handle something like bookmarks. It's especially designed to find and list lines which are comments and start with "TODO" or "FIXME".

You probably want, again as dmaphy said, to set bookmarks on certain lines in files. This can be done with Geany as mentioned by clicking in the markers margin (therefore the name, located between the line numbers and the editing area), alternatively you can set/unset bookmarks also using a keybinding (Ctrl-M).

Geany will highlight set bookmarks either by the plus sign in the markers margin or by using a coloured line background in case of the markers margin is hidden.
The SVN version of the addons plugin has a new component which lists set bookmarks per file in a new sidebar tab.
