That's true if don't describe a capped cylinder to be the union of a = cylinder with spheres of equal radius at either end. An expanded = cylinder would have flat ends with rounded edges. An expanded line = segment would be a capped cylinder. #For example, swept-sphere #vs. capped-cylinder is equivalent to ray vs. bigger-capped-cylinder. Here, the line segments representing the bounds of the triangle are = properly expanded to capped cylinders. #Swept-sphere vs. triangle is equivalent to ray #vs. union-of-offset-triangles-and-capped-cylinders. And so on -- #hopefully you get the idea. |
