I've been making a patch for the web php code to allow an option to
specify that the cluster_view should not show hosts by default.
This because the showing hosts can generate a tremendous load if you
have a big cluster, and why show the hosts if you only want to view the
global cluster status, right?
This has come with some bugs of which I currently fixed one, but that is
beside the point and not what this is about.
It seems someone at some time thought that when you click "Show hosts:
no", that a different pie chart would be displayed. In stead of showing
a pie chart with cluster load percentages, it now shows a pie chart with
the "Host status", the percentages of hosts up and hosts down.
Now I would like to know what the thought behind this was?
It seems to me having a pie chart with load percentages is much more
usefull than a pie chart of the hosts that are up/down. I can read that
info off the "Hosts up: <n> Hosts down: <n>" text on the webpage, I
don't need a extra pie chart for that.
I would vote for just showing the load percentages pie chart again when
show hosts is set to no.
Anyone agree/disagree or has some thoughts on the subject?
