It worked. But now I need advice -- probably a FAQ, but I don't see it in the one off the Galeon page at sourceforge. What I did was to rename the .galeon file to .galeonBACK; close Galeon; and relaunch Galeon, letting it create a new .galeon . The main problem is fixed, at least for now : both ^T and clicking File > New tab now do give me the new tab, with no crash. IOW, whatever was messing me up must now be in .galeonBACK, right? But there's a lot of good stuff in there, too. Bookmarks are not a problem -- I keep my main stash in Opera, fortunately, and imported them from Opera to Konqueror, and from Konqueror to Galeon. What about everything else?? How do I tell what to move into the new .galeon and what to put elsewhere or get rid of? Are there any general principles or methods? Od do I have to navigate by the seat of my pants? -- Beartooth Staffwright, PhD, Neo-Redneck Linux Convert Fedora 8; Alpine 0.99999, Pan 0.132; Privoxy 3.0.6; Dillo 0.8.6, Galeon 2.0.3, Epiphany 2.20, Opera 9.24, Firefox 2.0 Remember I know precious little of what I am talking about. |
