I've been wondering what's been causing pidgin to crash so I started enabling and disabling plugins till i found the root. I just did a fresh install of windows x64 2 days ago, and i have the latest windows updates so it's most likely not a problem on my end. Basically pidgin, when minimized to the tray and in away mode, will send out a fatal error message and terminate upon receiving a message (not opening). Pidgin will also fail to quit without first displaying this same message. This is on x64 windows xp, i'm not sure if the problem is also on 32. I've disabled all the plugins and by turning on extprefs by itself the error will return.

Is there any way you can send a backtrace or some kind of debug information regarding this?

Please install the Pidgin debug version and attach the pidgin.rpt file to this report.
