Normally I run rcsdiff to see if there is a difference between the data file and latest revision in RCS and if they are different, the program asks for the checkin log entry. Since rcsdiff does not work for me on windows, the program just assumes that the difference exists every time, which is not always true. If there really is no difference, the checkin utility notices this and does not bump revision number up when it checks the file in. The simplest workaround for now is to click checkbox "do not ask me for the log entry anymore", but then you won't be able to add log entry even if there were changes. I'll try to either get rcsdiff to work or will keep track of changes in my code and won't rely on rcsdiff at all. --vk |
