I was setting up my firewall in the layout described at http://www.fwbuilder.org/archives/cat_howtos.html#000202, and then I ran into a slight problem. I attempted to name my WAN interface VLAN1, but was prevented because my ADSL modem is using that name. I don't use ppp to connect my WAN interface into the ADSL router. Although the WAN interface gets its IP address from the ADSL router, it is strictly via DHCP (and that would strictly for convenience, so I could have set it statically). So what do I name my WAN interface? Or do I keep as ppp0, although I am sure that I would have to make some changes to the WRT54 as well. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!!! -- Kim C. Interface objects in fwbuilder must reflect configuration of your firewall. If the external interface is vlan1, then that should be the name of interface object in fwbuilder. --vk |
