Hi, I didn't get a response to my previous two emails :( I have another question. I noticed that any file operation is preceded by a lookup of the given path and if the lookup fails, the final operation is never invoked and hence never reaches the user-level code. For example, say a mkdir was issued on /a/b/c and directory b does not exist. The lookup will fail and the mkdir will never be called. Is there any way to get to the userlevel code for mkdir despite this error? I'm trying to make a copy-on-write filesystem. So if the file does not exist on the fuse mounted file system, but does exist in the main system (on which it was mounted) I want to access that file and copy over to the fuse file system. Please any suggestions would help me very much. I hope I get a response this time. Thanks.
