If its the latter then I would see why the options you mentioned are the only real solution. What kind of performance hit are we talking about? I can cache attrs if I need to. Also, my fuse filesystems are essentially pass-throughs so the kernel should already be caching the attributes for the "real" file locations. What kind of benefit could I see from going to a 2.6 kernel and thus later version of fuse? Does 2.7 manage links better than 2.5? Thanks a bunch, Mark |
