Dear Uli

It would be great feature adding subtitle option to videos. How I see it?

Let's say we have video file example.avi (divx) and subtitles in .txt or .srt example.txt. We want to transcode avi file, but with adding (melting) subtitle to this avi file. In transcoded file we will have video with build subtitle.

TVersity has got such option, they can watch video files with subtitles on their devices like PS3, X360.

It's a great feature, which I think all of us would like to have.

I don't know which codec to use or source to have subtitles build in video files.

What're you say about this idea?

Sincerely

  • On most DIVX certified player, at least on the PS3, you can embedded text subtitles (XSUB) in the AVI stream

This windows utility offers to remux an DIVX (H.264 won't work) with an SRT

Is there a possibility of doing live remuxing with fuppes?
