Hi everybody,

I installed fuppes on my nslu2 NAS device.

This is where my mp3s are:

<fuppes_config version="0.7.2.3">
<shared_objects>
<!-<dir>/mnt/sdb1/mp3/mnt/mp3</dir>->
<!-<dir>/root/downloads</dir>->
</shared_objects>

There are several hundreds of mp3s under both pathes. But when I start fuppes or when I recreate the db, not a single song is added to the database.
Sqlite3 touches the db, because date and time allways change, but the size of fuppes.db stays the same.

A select count(*) reveals the ugly truth: there is not a single set of data in the db ….

On my Noxon a Folder Fuppes is shown, but it is empty ….

Any help is appreciated …

Thanks

Rigasw

• If that is your config file then I know why:

<!- means start of comment in XML
-> means end of comment in XML.

So if you want to make those two lines actually be recognised (ie. not be comments) then just remove the <!- and -> from the start and end of those two lines. They should just look like this:

<fuppes_config version="0.7.2.3">
<shared_objects>
<dir>/mnt/sdb1/mp3/mnt/mp3</dir>
<dir>/root/downloads</dir>
</shared_objects>

And that should work. I hope this helps.

Hi Robert,

thanks a lot! Now the database is filling up …

Both folders are shown on my device (noxon), but you cannot enter them …

On the command line, fuppes says:

PuTTYerror      parse iTunes databases
database created at Mon Nov 9 09:05:06 2009
:10: parser error : PCDATA invalid Char value 5
<SortCriteria></SortCriteria>
^parsing action
Segmentation fault

Hi Robert,

this is what I use:

Version: SVN-r578
Hostname: slug2
OS: Linux 2.6.21.7
SQLite: 3.5.6

build at: Mar 6 2009 - 08:42:34
build with: 4.1.2

The fuppes version was provided by an optware software package for the nslu2 (aka slug) device.

On my linux box it looks like this:

webinterface: http://192.168.178.11:58599

r = rebuild database
i = print system info
h = print help

press "ctrl-c" or "q" to quit

== lib/Fuppes.cpp (336) :: Tue Nov 10 08:06:34 2009 ==
new device: BWLan UPnP/1.0 AVM FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN 7170 (UI) 29.04.57 :: unknown

new UPnP device:
BWLan UPnP/1.0 AVM FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN 7170 (UI) 29.04.57 (unknown)
== lib/Fuppes.cpp (336) :: Tue Nov 10 08:06:34 2009 ==
new device: BWLan UPnP/1.0 AVM FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN 7170 (UI) 29.04.57 :: unknown

new UPnP device:
BWLan UPnP/1.0 AVM FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN 7170 (UI) 29.04.57 (unknown)
== lib/Fuppes.cpp (336) :: Tue Nov 10 08:06:35 2009 ==
new device: NOXON :: MediaRenderer

new UPnP device:
NOXON (MediaRenderer)

By that time the folders with my music show up in my Noxon iRadio. But when I try to open one of the folders, fuppes crashes:

new UPnP device:
NOXON (MediaRenderer)
:10: parser error : PCDATA invalid Char value 5
<SortCriteria></SortCriteria>
^
PuTTYerror parsing action
Segmentation fault

Any ideas?
