When configuring transcoding of FLAC or OGG files for the Playstation 3 (stream type), the CPU Usage rises to 100% and the files cannot played back. Error message is "we are sending faster than transcoding".

I do not believe this is due to a slow machine (AMD Athlon64 Processor 3500+) as I also use SlimServer and playing back a file from Slimserver on the same machine involves transcoding from OGG/FLAC to MP3 and then decoding it again for the soundcard and the CPU usage there is roughly 30%.

Playing back a VDR recording works well (but I cannot scan forward/backward or pause the stream).

I use Fedora Release 8 with current updates, the latest official version fuppes-SVN-578, ffmpeg from SVN (2007-12-26), libvorbis-devel-1.2.0-1.fc8, flac-devel-1.2.1-1.fc8.

I guess the problem is related to the 64 bit platform.
Do you transcode to mp3 or pcm/wav?

I had the same problem on a 64bit linux. It works with pcm but not with mp3.
