instead of creating the profile.xml in the program
directory, it should be stored in the user profile.

Windows: UserDir/Application Data/FullSync
*nix: HomeDir
Mac?... i guess HomeDir too?

ah well, that will need some further research :D (hints?)

    Mac: yes, just like any other *nix: would create ~/.FullSync and place (configuration) files inside. If there is only one (text/xml) file, placing it directly under ~/.FullSync would be OK, too.
