Hi,

Duply currently sources the pre/post script, making it ignore shebang (#!) line when executing the scripts. This prevents writing pre/post scripts directly in anything but bash (e.g. python) which can be useful.

As a workaround the pre/post scripts can be used as wrappers around the actual script. But, I think it will be better if this hack isn't needed.

this is a design decision: it relieves average users from having to know about the script being executable and shebangs.

however, if you deliver a clean patch (or patched duply) that keeps the status quo, but checks for a shebang and executability and runs it instead of sourcing it in that case i'll consider your request.
