I'm using 2.4.5 kernel and 0.3.0 ftpfs. It works
perfectly, except that it won't write to the mounted
ftp file system. On the server side, proftpd is
running. Writing works well when using 'normal'
ftp-clients, such as ncftp.

root@machine:/# echo "mooo" > /temp/testfile
root@machine:/# mount -n -t ftpfs none /engine-ftp -o
ip=192.168.0.1,user=guest,pass=test,port=1111
root@machine:/# cp /temp/testfile /engine-ftp/
cp: writing `/engine-ftp/testfile': Input/output error
root@machine:/#

    Yup, it won't work. FTPfs does paged I/O. That is it reads/writes at random offsets. proftpd does not support (yet?) writing at an arbitrary offset.

    So writing won't work :(
