In find dialog
entering "<bh:68><bh:4A><bh:DC>" (notice the upper case hex) will fail as Not found message
entering "<bh:68><bh:4a><bh:dc>" (notice lower case) will work
I think Frhed should support uppercase hex values
Side note: searching using <bh:XX> format is cumbersome
Would be nice if raw hex search in hex view was supported
Raw hex as in "68 4A DC"

It will be fixed in next Frhed version.
About the format - I agree it is not nice. However the point is we need to differentiate if the given "text" is:
- textual presentation ("abba") or
- bytes given in hex values <bh:ab><bh:ba>
There certainly are ways to improve this but I haven't had a time to look into it...
