    Hello all,

Thanks for the great software. At the moment I feel constrained because,
despite much research and searching for documentation, I haven't found how to
create "Free Nodes", or "Freely Positionable Nodes" as defined by http://free
    plane.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Tutorial_Freeplane#Floating_nodes.

When I select a node and go to Edit >, I see nothing about a freely
positionable node. Can someone point me in the right direction? I can do
Physical Style -> Floating Node, but this still tethers it to a parent.

    Thank you!

    Hi,
Your question suggests you do not use the newFreeplane version. Download
    Freeplane 1.2.x beta from freeplane.org.
    Regards,
    Jokro

Note that the new Freeplane has a tutorial in Help. Use Ctrl + click in the
background to open a free node in Freeplane 1.2.x.
