I'm happy to announce that release 2.1.4 aka 2.2.0 beta is out. We ask
our users to test the changes made in the last few years. This beta will
be available for about two months, whereafter 2.2.0 will be released.
Helping us to test version 2.1.4 now, can avoid problems when you
finally update your fpc-version to 2.2.0.
(on behalf of the whole FPC team)
FPC is a 32/64-bit Pascal Compiler for AmigaOS, DOS, Linux, *BSD, OS/2, Mac OS (X) and Win32.
Another, and possibly the final, bugfix release of the FPC 2.0.x branch. Again a release with many bugfixes and some small new features. More details can be found in the What's New document.
Free Pascal 2.0.2 has been released. This is mainly a bug fix release to 2.0.0.
Due to the tedious and time consuming process (which I prefer to spent in coding) of releasing files at SF, only the most important release files are available here. Get the complete release files on the FPC ftp site.
After a 5 years waiting period, the 2.0 version of Free Pascal has finally arrived!
Free Pascal is a self contained 32/64 bit Pascal compiler that focusses on the Borland Pascal dialects including Delphi. It's available for many OSes (win32, Linux, FreeBSD, OS X, Classic Mac OS and OS/2).
The package also includes a vast set of libraries and header conversions. An attempt at a RAD is done by the separate Lazarus project, which is increasingly succesful.... read more
The task of porting the Free Pascal Compiler to Linux/PowerPC64 has been added to IBM's Linux on POWER 2005 (http://www.linuxonpower.com) contest, which means you can earn a PowerMac dual G5/2GHz by completing this port! Version 1.9.8 of FPC has been released and uploaded to SourceForge. This is the second release candidate for the upcoming 2.0.x series, and thus mostly fixes.
Some other highlights are
- improved ARM and Sparc codegeneration (a Linux->ARM crosscompiler is now available)
- Several improvements to the Macintosh Pascal compability
Version 1.9.6 of FPC has been released and uploaded to SourceForge. This is the first release candidate for the upcoming 2.0.x series. Despite the releases known from 1.9.4 there is now a Linux/Sparc, a Linux/x86-64, a OS/2 and a MacOS classic release as well.
The compiler now supports Mac OS X on the PowerPC and Linux on ARM. The reintroduce keyword is recognized and Prefetch support was added. A MacPas compile mode was implemented for more compatibility with classic Mac OS sources.
After a long overdue wait, FPC for AmigaOS, Solaris x86, QNX x86 and BeOS x86 based on version 1.0.10 have finally officially been released. FPC is a 32-bit Pascal Compiler for AmigaOS, DOS, Linux, *BSD, OS/2 and Win32; semantically compatible with Borland Pascal 7 and Delphi with additional features such as operator overloading. The compiler itself is written in Pascal.
Version 1.9.2 of FPC has been released and uploaded to SourceForge. This is the second beta for the upcoming 2.0.x series. Despite the releases known from 1.9.0 there is now a linux-powerpc release as well.
Version 1.9.0 of FPC has been released and uploaded to SourceForge. This is the first beta for the upcoming 2.0.x series. Currently, only win32-i386, linux-i386, fbsd-i386 and go32v2-i386 1.9.0 beta releases are available. Due to the time required to prepare a release we decided to limit the first betas to these OSes and spend our time in further developement.
Version 1.0.10 of FPC has been released and uploaded to SourceForge. This will be the last 1.0.x version; we will now concentrate on the 1.1 branch, which will end in 1.2 or 2.0. The Free Pascal Compiler is a 32-bit Pascal Compiler for AmigaOS, DOS, Linux, *BSD, OS/2 and Win32; semantically compatible with Borland Pascal 7 with additional features such as operator overloading. The compiler itself is written in Pascal.
The 1.0.6 release of FPC has been uploaded to SourceForge.
