I find it very annoying that I can not set the sort order on nodes.
I want to be able to e.g. create a presentation with an ordered chronology without making it just a simple tree. I want a root node with many children such as background, history, market, status etc etc and covert to HTML knowing they will be exported in exactly that order! And being able to place 3 nodes on the right-hand side and 7 on the left-hand. In other words, more control of the nodes.

With the now famous 0.8.0 RC2, all of this seems possible. You do know that you can select a first level node from the root and drag it top, bottom, left or right. right?
I think it will also export in the order displayed in the app.
Other people seem to have figured out how to generate .mm files from databases, into the required XML like format.

Dropping nodes at one side of the root is already possible in FreeMind 0.7.1.
