I've been using v.0.9.0 on my Macbook Air on Lion for some time and is working fine. Just now, I changed the "Last Opened List Length to 0 under Preference/Environment. I closed the program and restarted again. At the splash screen, the gauge stopped at "Create Controller…", then a message window with heading "Startup problem" showed up, saying "freemind.main.FreeMind can't be started".
I researched around, tried the below already but with no luck:-
- used Appcleaner to remove FreeMind, and reinstalled again
- remove Freemind, then delete the entire Java folder from /System/Library, reinstall the latest Java SE 6 v1.6.0_29, then reinstall FreeMind
I'm out of clue already. Please help.
Thanks in advance.
Just found out how to solve my problem and would like to share here.
Then freemind can start again. When I look through the auto.properties file, the property "last_opened_list_length" has no value. It confirmed my believe that when I changed it from the preference pane to 0, it would cause freemind to crash on startup.
this helped me a lot !
