Anyone have an idea as to why on Earth this is happening? I get the same thing with FreePlane, so I imagine it's to do with some underlying software/process…but I don't know what *specifically* might be causing it, so I can't figure out how to get started fixing it.
(If the above fails to attach a screenshot, I could use advice on cutting/pasting an image in this posting interface…)

I would guess a graphic card issue, you might want to upgrade your driver. Really just a blind guess. Do you have the same isue with other Java programs, like jedit?
I have a similar problem. It seems to be something to do with Java. I had the problem on Vista last year sometime and found a fix for it but I can't remember what it was. I am now running Win 7 Pro and the problem occurs when I use the WIndows 7 Basic theme. If I use the aero themes it displays fine. I have updated the driver to the latest available from Nvidia and it makes no difference. Graphic card is a GeForce Go 7400.
