File is now gone

2011-11-22I just outlined a chapter in a book and saved it twice in a folder on my desktop and it's now gone. The file is there, but it says that it's " 0 KB and when I open it, it simply takes me back to the file I was working on BEFORE I saved this past file. Any ideas?
