Is there a way to re-organise nodes by attribute? For example, if I have a several nodes each being a book I've read and each has an attribute of the year I read it, I want then to create a new mind map (or re-organise the existing one) so that the nodes are now the years and the sub-nodes (leaves) are the books I read in that year. If this is not possible, adding it as a feature would be a real coup as I don't think even the commercial versions can do this.
This is something that could be accomplished via Freemind's Groovy macro system. But, you manually could (especially if it is a one-time thing): set an attribute filter for a specific year (be sure to uncheck options to show ancestors and descendents); "Select All" of the nodes that come up (Control-click on the root node to remove it from the selection); right-click on any of the nodes and choose "Copy Single"; now remove the filter; create a new node for the year you filtered on; right-click that node and choose "Paste." Do that for each of the years you read books and you are done!
