Hi, I have downloaded 0.9.0 RC11 and the latex seems to be completely gone.
My old maps with latex are no longer displayed with formulas and the new ones can't have latex.
Could you please tell what is the status of latex plugin?

    Thanks!

  • Hi,

the plugin was removed due to a) licence reasons and b) due to strange functionality. The formulas are painted outside the nodes which isn't in the sense of FreeMind.
If you use the plugin, simply take it from the former versions (see the releases in sf.net) and put the files into the plugins folder. Then it re-appears.

    HTH, Chris

    Hi Chris,

does that mean, that officially FreeMind does not have the given LaTeX functionality (HotEqn) any more?
Do you plan any other way to insert equations in Nodes?

For me, this is an absolutely essential feature.
    :-(

It's there. Read the history.txt or Readme.. They turned it off due to bugs, but you can turn it back on.

I really love Freemind! But the LaTeX-disappearing is a bit of a problem.
I've got some big older mindmaps full of formulas. So …

    • any chance of reactivating it?  -

    Perhaps anyone with a step-by-step-guide?
Neither did I find the plugin in the older  versions nor hints in the readme.
Help would be very much appreciated ..

    @ruhri
I've switched to FreePlane (http://freeplane.sourceforge.net/) in the meantime, and its LaTeX support is very suitable,
but to help you reactivating your plugin you should tell us, which Operating System you're using.
