Version: FreeMind 1.0.0 RC 5 and RC 4

Operation system: Mac OSX 10.8.5

OS Language: german

Description: Freemind files are not opened by double clicking when they are stored in a directory which name includes special characters like used in german language, e.g. äöüÄÖÜß. Same error occurs when those characters are included in the filename.
When opening the files via menu File - Open, an error message pops up "Error: File <filename> not found.". The <filename> shows the special characters in the right way.
If FreeMind had not been started before, the application is launched but the file will not be opened.

Example "/Users/martin/Desktop/Täst/test.mm"

This had been possible in a former RC - I think RC 3. But from RC 4 on the problem occurs.

  • Hi,

    I get the same line:
    file:/Users/foltin/tmp/T?st/Neue%20Mindmap3.mm
but my file is found. Did you try 1.0.0 (it changed the java version used internally)?
    TIA, Chris

  • Hi Chris,
great, that's it. I just installed 1.0.0 and tried it on two Macs. Problem disappeared.
    Thanks for your help
    Martin

  • Solved by next Java version contained in 1.0.0.
