I mean that as far as I could tell from my recollection of my first trial, the application's behavior was the same.

I was not able to compare the error log because I didn't keep a copy of my old one. I tried to download it from the copy I uploaded into this thread, but my browser just crashed. I assume that happened because the uploaded copy was made inaccessible when the thread was closed.

I can create a new error log and upload it, but not before next weekend at the soonest. It still won't be possible to compare the old log to the new one unless you can access a copy of the old one.

What do you mean with "exactly as before"? You can't get errors like the one in the screenshot above with "CopyFilePermissions == false" in GlobalSettings.xml.

I'm sorry it took me so long to respond to your message. I'm living in a situation where I have very little opportunity to use one of the computers I have to synch, and I didn't have a chance to try the synch again until today.

When I opened the Global Settings dialog to disable Copy NTFS Permissions, I found that it was already disabled. Assuming that I had disabled it back in March in response to your advice, I tried the operation again. It failed again, as far as I can tell, exactly as it did before.

I note that you mentioned a later version of the application fixes the problem you described. It may or may not fix the problem I have. Rather than try it blindly, I'd prefer to get the benefit of your advice before trying something like that. My time with this computer is still extremely limited, and I want to use it as efficiently as I can. I also would prefer to get this version of the application to work so that I have a known good fallback, before I start experimenting with other versions that might introduce a whole new set of bugs.

v5.15 will add new context menu options to "copy" and "paste" filter settings. This will help in this scenario, too.

Maybe you want to get support from some other forum that specializes on C++ compilation issues on Linux?

The FFS source code is not targeted at mainstream Linux users. Yes, there is no nice solution for Fedora (and a lot of other distributions) right now. Hopefully someone will step up and maintain a package at some time, just like there is on Ubuntu and Arch Linux.
