Hi Zenju,

Next to my previous request, another one :)

Background:
I would like to have some web content offline available and can map a web drive locally. Next is that I want to synchronize, but as I do not have write permissions to all folders (especially not on root levels), storage of the database files fails.
Adding whatever 3rd party application related files into the repository is also not convenient at all.
I made a "dirty hack" to store database files for both sides on the local site, but for sure this is really a "dirty hack". (My programming skills in C++ are quite limited)

Would you mind to include a configuration possibility where you can define the location of FFS created files?

Regards,
Christian

This would also be usefull when using FreeFileSync from multiple computers on the same shared folder I guess.

      FFS already supports this case.

Perfect then, it was not obvious to me. Do you mean that the contents of the DB are independant of the other directory contents?

They are dependent, but the DB file keeps track of all the other DB files it interacts with. So it's safe to have multiple "two way" syncs against the same directory.

  • Hi,

I too need to sync read only sources and read and write but no delete sources.
To me this option would be very useful.

I think this could be a file to be written on %APPDATA%/FreeFileSync/ on windows case, for example.
