As discussed in this thread:
https://sourceforge.net/p/freefilesync/discussion/open-discussion/thread/5415b768

It would be very nice to have "move detection" available for mirror sync, not just the Automatic sync

This is very useful, Mirror could be more faster.

Another vote here, and just checking the status

As someone with minor dyslexia AND OCD, I would love this feature. I want all my backups to be perfectly synced and organized, but I find that I'm always misspelling or rearranging words on very large filenames, sometimes multiple times (ie I'll rename, and sync, and then realized I goofed and need to rename and sync again). This would save me quite a bit of time, and save my drive from excess work

Slightly off topic here, but this is also the reason why I'd love a bit level sync as well (difference comparison, rsync style), because I make minor mistakes like that when working within the files as well

In the case of Mirror function and probably also in others, it is possible to reduce the operating time. Identify the renamed files on the destination is not easy, I assume is necessary to compare their hash. This solution is not fast, the time difference, compared to the current mode (re-copy), I doubt that it is very significant (in some cases may be counterproductive). Instead, in the case where, on the source, have been renamed only some folders, without modifying the files, the time of synchrony could be reduced. According to me, the solution is to allow (optionally) a comparison of the files defined "to be deleted" with the ones defined "to be added" and identify those whose name, size and date / time (as always, optional content) are identical. These files would be reusable ("move" command on the same drive), in much faster mode than the current mode (re-copy). Thanks for this great tool and excuse for my english... GlacialMan

Vote because it relates to what is already required and proposed here:
    https://sourceforge.net/p/freefilesync/feature-requests/395/

Certainly involves extra programming, but it would give a sense of completeness and versatility at the program.

Another great option as my users usually move things around, so a simple directory rename or move, forces FFS to copy it all again and delete the old stuff.
This is a +100 vote feature!

I use the mirror function to make a controlled backup. I can check what files are added, deleted or moved. Is very difficult now to see the moved files.
This new function is a must !!!
