So I have currently been trying to get Jeff's OBDII interface ( http://www.planetfall.com/cms/content/opendiag-obd-ii-schematics-pcb-layout ) to work with freediag. I have the design all set up currently on a bread board but I having some trouble.
I think the circuit seems to be working correctly but I still get negative results when I go to do a scan. Has anyone else used his OBDII interface and was there anything specific you had to do with freediag to get it to work?
With freediag, I've only compiled it with the defaults and I didn't change anything.
I appreciate any help and thanks,
Look at the site . I have been using their unit for a number of years now and it seems pretty solid. They have the on for their unit on the site as well as all the needed to access the unit and pull codes. All the reference information is free.
Not sure all the details of Jeff's project but you might find that this would either give a good direction to a working product or a way to change the existing one to make it work. Plus having the code to interface with the unit helps a lot too. You can also get their software for free as well. It is not great but it does have GM look-ups for specific error codes that has helped fix a lot of issues on my cars without needing to resort to the dealer or pay sites to figure out what needs to be cleaned or replaced.
You might try the code in CVS, it is much more recent than v0.3 currently in the downloadable packages.
