Shell script permissions (from files extracted from freediag-1.00c.7z) are not correct considering how those scripts are referenced. To avoid most of these problems, you could change this:

./somescript

to this:

sh somescript

... in INSTALL, README, and most importantly, the Makefiles.

An alternative would be to set the permissions in cvs so that no other changes are required. I don't like that alternative because losing execute permissions is all to common. Another alternative would be to use gzip'd tar files or zip instead of p7zip (i.e., if the permissions are actually set in cvs) because p7zip won't store file attributes (at least to the best of my understanding).

Should be fixed (updated makefile.am that references genconfig.sh) in CVS now.
