With the evolution of the PocketPC, it has become a powerful tool to carry when traveling, but, most of the recent PPC models do not have modem capabilities because most have abandoned the CF slot in favor of SD slots.
The AirPort/RG1000 series AP's seem to be ideal compliments to the PocketPC because of the built in modem where most of the new "travel AP's" only have ethernet connections. Most PPC's have WiFi capabilities and I use my RG1000 in conjunction with my PPC when traveling to connect to motel hard wired ethernet connections.
Unfortunately, there is no (current) way for a PocketPC to toggle the modem on/off or edit the modem phone number, but, after finding FreePort, my hopes have been raised that it might be possible to port it to Embedded VB for the PocketPC.
I am, unfortunately, not a VB programmer, so, am standing here asking for direction on possibly achieving such a software port which I feel would have high interest in the PocketPC community.

Hi Beverly!
(Probably a late answer, but hey...)
You could try this:
http://www.toluse.de/www/projects.htm
You can't edit the phone number, username or password for the dialup.
Just a simple Connect / Disconnect program for the PocketPC

Tobias
