FreeCAD-Ship (*sanguinariojoe-ship* branch) have new features that i think can be merged: * Tanks generation * Ship weights definition * GZ stability parameter computation tool Also several bugs have been fixed. Can you merge on master branch? --- This is the last "static" ship computation tool on my plans (probably bugs may fixed). Now dynamics computation tools will be developed, that requires CFD involved methods. I have big plans for FreeCAD-Ship! --- Thanks! Jose Luis Cercós Pita |

Hi Jose, Great! Curious to see the new work. I'm out of home these days, no way to merge right now, but I'll try to do that this weekend. No problem!!! I already updated the tutorials (and add some minor changes at module in order to improve sightly some complex calcules). You can find new tutorials here: https://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/free-cad/index.php?title=FreeCAD-Ship_s60_tutorial https://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/free-cad/index.php?title=FreeCAD-Ship_s60_tutorial_%28II%29 Spanish version later ;-) Enjoy *"PUT THE PLACE HERE"*! Branch: "sanguinariojoe-ship" Yorik, I know that you are in Brazil (How is going the presentation?), but i need a merge into master (feel free to rebase the branch, or whatever you need). I have been fixed some bugs, but the most relevant is the Part module import related one (that cause FreeCAD-Ship don't runs at PPA daily build). Thanks!!! Pepe |

Hi all! Some stupid bugs related with surfaces module (that is broken) dependencies has been fixed on FreeCAD-Ship. Could you merge *sanguinariojoe-ship* branch? I think that this time will work into daily build! Thanks!!! |

Hi Pepe, Merged! Ah, one thing I wanted to ask you: could you make an image similar to these ones: https://github.com/yorikvanhavre/FreeCAD/blob/master/src/Mod/Start/StartPage/PartDesignExample.png https://github.com/yorikvanhavre/FreeCAD/blob/master/src/Mod/Start/StartPage/ArchExample.png It would be a very simple short 4-image tutorial showing how to start with the ship module, to go on the startpage. You can just make 4 images, and I'll resize and format it. Possible? Thanks! Hi Pepe, I encountered some errors when tying to merge your branch, that I wasn't sure how to solve... Could you do a rebase? Thanks Yorik > > |

Werner has fixed some bugs at FreeCAD-Ship windows installer stuff, and pepersin has uploaded a new Windows version. Thanks!!! Ship module runs now on Windows! Only 1 problem detected, icons is not correctly placed because I'm stupid... I fixed that, so please can you merge sanguinariojoe-ship branch?? (When you have time) At the other hand when i try to download master commits doing git pull origin master on my branch, sometimes I have conflicts that I only know to solve doing commits. Do you know a better way? Thanks!!! |

New plot module (sanguinariojoe-plot) can be now integrated into master branch. It's not intrusive: * Module checks for matplotlib before be loaded, and stop importing process if matplotlib is not available printing warning at terminal. Then module is not available anymore at workbenches list. * Using autoconf or cmake matplotlib will seeked, but if not found a warning will shown, plot module will not installed, and all process will continue normally. * Debian package only recommends matplotlib, but is not a hard dependency. So module is only available if matplotlib is installed even if you use Windows installer/Autoconf/CMake/Debian package (And I suppose that MAC OsX is covered too), without old behaviour significant alteration. Module behaviour is excellent (see tutorial)! And I'm actively documenting it! I'm waiting for merge before re-develope ship module (i will place a notice on forum too). Thanks!!! Pepe |

Great! Okay, I'll do the merge today! curious to look at the new features. Jose, what about that pyxplot dependency? Would it be possible to check for it when your module runs, and maybe add a warning to the user? I did this for the arch module (checks if pycollada is there, if yes, enable collada import, if not, disable it and warn the user), I think it's the best behaviour... In the packages dependencies, we can then mark pyxplot as recommended... Another thing, one of these days we should start a section on the wiki for the ship module...
