I'm pleased to announce the first file release of 4Pane, a four-pane detailed-list file manager for Linux, designed to be fully-featured without bloat. In addition to standard file manager things, it offers multiple undo and redo of most operations (including deletions), archive management including 'virtual browsing' inside archives, multiple renaming/duplication of files, a terminal emulator and user-defined tools. There is more information, including screenshots and an online manual, at http://www.4pane.co.uk
Although this is the first beta release of 4Pane, it's already fully working and stable.
Included in the release are binaries for the current versions of Debian, *buntu, Mepis, SUSE, Fedora, Mandriva, PCLinuxOS and Slackware.
Binaries for older versions, and a Gentoo and Sabayon overlay and ebuild, are available at http://www.4pane.co.uk/Download.htm
as are source rpms,
There is also a repository for the various debs and the PCLinuxOS rpm. See http://www.4pane.co.uk/Download.htm
