Foswiki 1.1.6 Release Candidate 1 is now available for testing at
http://foswiki.org/Download/FoswikiRelease01x01x06RC1 If no new issues
are discovered, this will released as Foswiki Release 1.1.6 on or around
December 1st. If you have the time, please test, so that Foswiki 1.1.6
is a solid release. Please raise urgent Tasks or contact us on IRC if
you find any issues.
Note also, that with Foswiki 1.1.6, we are releasing a new extension:
http://foswiki.org/Extensions/PatchFoswikiContrib. This contrib will
patch older versions of Foswiki (1.1.0 and newer) with changes required
to support the new Perl VERSION strings used by the extensions released
with 1.1.6. Two patches are applied:
* lib/Foswiki/Configure/UIs/EXTENSIONS.pm and
lib/Foswiki/Configure/Dependency.pm are updated to not use the
string "HEAD" to check for pseudo-installed extensions.
o If this patch is not applied and an extension using the new
VERSION strings is installed, configure will crash when
attempting to display the list of installed extensions.
* lib/Foswiki/Configure/Dependency.pm is also updated to treat any
VERSION string in dotted decimal format (ex. 1.2, or v1.2.3 ) as
newer than older SVN revision based version strings.
o If this is not installed, extensions written with dependencies
library will cause Foswiki to re-install the JQueryPlugin.
Again, these issues only occur when a new extension, released with/after
Foswiki 1.1.6, is installed on an older Foswiki (1.1.5 or older). We
have not attempted to provide compatibility patches for Foswiki 1.0.x.
This conversion to perl compatible VERSION strings is needed to enable
use of git, which does not have a concept similar to the SVN revision
Translation status: Chinese (Taiwan), Danish, Dutch, French, German,
Italian, Norwegian, and Portuguese (Brazil) are 100% complete.
Thanks to everyone who worked on Foswiki 1.1.6, and the language
