We would like to migrate from SVN to GIT and keep our SVN users with us during this change. Most of our SVN users "import" the JCL repo using svn:externals and DAV access to our subversion repository. So our plan is to make a DAV access to our git repository possible, so users won't have to change anything on their end (excepting the URL).
For now, I can't see anything when I use TortoiseSVN repository browser at https://firstname.lastname@example.org/p/jcl/git It simply reports "path not found". Opening this URL in firefox displays a blank page.
This GIT DAV access seems to be possible since github has one: for instance I can access https://github.com/defunkt/facebox.git within TortoiseSVN repository browser.
Apparently, the DAV git access can be directly configured in apache configuration files, but perhaps Github uses an external tool to make it possible.
