George, I am very glad to hear that you figured out the cause of the problem, and more importantly that it is now fixed. I wish I had been able to send to you the font that exhibited the issue. Type 1 CIDFont resources continue to be important, not for delivering fonts to customers, but as one of the source files for building OpenType fonts. About the OpenType Beta Program, I know all too well what it is like to have far too many irons in the fire. If you know of anyone who you think would benefit from participating, please let me know.
