On Sourceforge at least, Flamerobin is still reported as alpha quality software. However, I (and probably many others) use it daily.
Stability and functionality is better than many beta or even production software.
From a marketing/PR perspective, still using alpha might scare users away. If you move it to beta, you can still add features and breaking changes, and improve the image the program presents to newcomers.
(And new developers might be attracted, too ;)
I would strongly suggest moving everything now to beta, and production after the next release has been run in the field for a while without major problems.
