still NOTsolved: 2004-11-03 by Todd Watson
zitat:
When I try to open FLAC Frontend the DOS window pops
up then closes, but the frontend doesn't open. I'm
unable to do anything with FLAC now.
--
¡¡¿¿ 8 years an NO solution ??!!
--
The dos-window vanishes before one can read it's contents. I just made some tests what blocks proper execution.
--
The frontend was developed OUTside of flac BUT it is distributed with flac and there is NO contact elsewhere. Does anybody has a contact to 'speek' ? But He seems not lkonger responsilbe for this, so who may do the job ?
--
And it is still a problem of flac ( flac-INSTALLATION ) !
The frontend does NOT include the flac-path in the batch file. windows does NOT know where flac resides. The batch-file does NOT find FLAC ! ( default path is switched to the location, where the *.wav resides. )

MULTI-frontend seems to work properly ( path of ENcoder may be included there ).
Bundle another frontend with flac or PLEASE find somebody to solve that bug in flac-frontend.

THANKS.

MULTI frontend has also some bugs. You should recommend a working frontend for flac ( like razorlame for lame/mp3 ) .

MULTI frontend neglects files with german 'UMLAUTE' äöü... and does not find tag.exe ( path problem ).

Because FLAC did not find/ENcoded one file of the list, compression seemed to bee good, but a files was missing. Performance seems worse than ape , where I was used to 45 % ( 55% compression ).
