I am trying to install GT.M on a 64bit Ubuntu virtual machine.
I have downloaded the file. when i try execute sudo sh ./configure.
I get the following error : cannot find file geteuid - although i can see this file in the directory?????
so i opened the ./configure script and removed that piece of code....
then the script executes fine till right at the end where it says:
configure 373 : ./mumps not found
configure 423 : /usr/local/gtm/mumps not found
few more errors
The strange thing is i can see the files, i can see the mumps file in both ./mumps and /usr/local/gtm/mumps.
I have checked the permissions and executable.....
if i manually try execute mumps it just says "file not found" but i can see it.....?
Any help would be appreciated....
sudo apt-get install lib32ncurses5
I think the error message might be a little misleading.
"sudo aptitude install ia32-libs" might be more complete.
Also, ganymede, please do not remove or alter any part of the installation script. You are more likely to break something than fix something.
i re-downloaded ubuntu 32bit - and it works fine....
32-bit GT.M runs very well on 64-bit Ubuntu - in fact, I run 64-bit Ubuntu on my laptop. But you do need the ia32-libs package to allow 32-bit x86 applications to execute on x8664 (AMD64) and ia64 hardware.
