First off, I'd like to appluad you for all the work
you've done with this. I just found FFadm and with
some tweaks I think this could be put to good use.
Some background, I work at a small school that
supports Mozilla/ Firefox along with roaming profiles.
In the past, we have used Kixstart to rewrite the
registry.dat file to change the profile to a samba
share to cut down on login times as well as provide
backups. Firefox is a little easier because we can
redirect the profile be editing profiles.ini.
Over the summer, we're going to be migrating to AD
and redirected folders on top of roaming profiles.
Naturally, we'd like to keep redirecting the profiles
to our Samba volume if possible. We've found that
redirecting Appdata to the Samba volume actually slows
down login times dramatically and plan on keeping
"appdata"located on a Win server.
In order to use these templates, it looks like I'd
have to change the login script to point to
\\samba\directory rather than
"%appdata%\mozilla\profiles? If the profile is there,
the script SHOULD find the redirected profile but If it
creates the profile, it definitely looks like it will
be created in appdata.
I'm wondering if my assumptions are correct and if
I'm missing something. Also how much trouble do you
think it would be to have an ADM to change the profile
